Like a
bitch. I was fixing a few leads and a guitar tuner this morning, and after spending ages (and I mean
ages) soldering wires onto the circuit board for the tuner, burning my fingers in the process, my dad steps on the thing literally five minutes later and breaks the screen! Nice one.... At least all the leads remained unharmed.
A little catch-up time now.
I haven't posted in a while since I've been insanely busy. Another performance in Music is out the way now, and things are getting better. Yeah I know, I know, I moaned and moaned about how rubbish school was. It
was. It's not anymore. I actually look forward to it. I'm crazy, right?
Anywho, next week is set to be pretty damn awesome. Seeing the
Goo Goo Dolls on Friday in Cambridge.
And, my Muse tickets came yesterday. Yes, things rock. On top of that, I'm going to see John Mayer next month.
By myself apparently. There's bound to be loads of screaming girls there. I'll be one of them.
Well come on, John Mayer
is fit.
On the subject of John Mayer, I got his new album Continuum last week.
You HAVE to listen to it. Why, you ask? Because he's one of the few artists who can go from style to style, and pull it off. This one's a mix of upbeat soul and blues ballads, and there's a touch of everything else in there which means there's something for everyone. The thing that annoys me about John Mayer? He says everything I want to say, in a way I wish I could. I don't know what it is, but the words just fit with me perfectly. Oh, and his cover of Bold As Love is
amazing (which, on a side note, is a Hendrix album we all should own). As for the CD, it was sent with a nice hole drilled through the case/sleeve. Silly man.
My cousins were here this weekend, they left a couple of hours ago. When they suggested going to the cinema last night, I was hoping we'd go see something happy, maybe funny. But no, that's not how it was going to be. They made me go see
World Trade Center (excuse the American spelling). I'll admit it wasn't the happiest movie I've ever seen, but it was eye-opening in many ways. It's not a film focused on terrorism, or Islam, or the government, or conspiracies. Those things can be left to people with too much time on their hands. It's about two survivors (one of which is
Nicholas Cage, but that doesn't matter here), and what they go through. It' shows the good in people who struggled through the whole thing. It's kind of easy to forget how bad it really was. Don't believe me? Scroll through
this. It's longer than you'd think.
Enough of that. Tomorrow is my CCF field day. I get to go and play army until 5pm. It's better than it sounds. Honest.
I got a roll of black vinyl in the mail this morning. It's for a little project I'm conspiring. What's that you say? You'll see, you'll see...
